Anant Art presents Migrants in the Museum, a solo exhibition by Probir Gupta, opening on 31 January 2025 at Travancore House, New Delhi.
Probir Gupta’s practice is deeply rooted in social and political discourse, addressing themes of migration, displacement, and historical memory. Through his powerful paintings, sculptures, and installations, he constructs layered narratives of resistance, drawing from history, world economy, cinema, media, and mythology. His works are both personal and universal, confronting the urgencies of our time while evoking a sense of dislocation and fractured identity.
Engaging with found objects, textured surfaces, and bold compositions, Probir’s work challenges the viewer to refl ect on the human condition. Migrants in the Museum presents a compelling exploration of movement, exile, and belonging—issues that continue to shape contemporary society.
The exhibition is an IAF Parallel and runs until 11 February 2025.
