All That Is Solid Melts Into Air presents a group display of inter-mediatic engagements from the graduating MFA batch of students of Shiv Nadar University. Diversely oriented in thought and materiality, in these works we encounter streams of ideas regarding the fragility and malleability of ecology, memory and self; find frequencies of thinking with the givenness of matter, space, community and entropy; explore the possibilities of forging kinship beyond the borders of time and species; understand the technics of dominance that shape collective life; confront the place of doubt in the myth of the artist; and as the final act of vanishing, we behold the spectral disappearance into thin air of the artist after staging an intervention. In the artistic practices presented here reside methodologies and processual deliberations that peer through the screens of our everyday miasma to reach at the underlying mechanics, as if to suggest: if all is obfuscated, we will simply look in other ways, glance through other nodes, recall in other ways, until the thing that holds reality in its place can be prodded.
