Muhammad Zeeshan (b. 1980, Mirpurkhas, Pakistan) is a contemporary artist renowned for his innovative interpretations of traditional miniature painting. Initially working as a cinema board painter in his hometown, Zeeshan later pursued formal education at the National College of Arts in Lahore. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Miniature Painting in 2003.
Zeeshan's multidisciplinary practice delves into themes of violence, social unrest, and political depravity on a global scale. His work challenges conventional boundaries, blending meticulous miniature techniques with contemporary subject matter to provoke thought and dialogue. His art has been showcased internationally since 2003, with exhibitions at venues such as Rohtas II Gallery in Lahore, Anant Art Gallery in New Delhi, and Aicon Gallery in New York. In 2007, Zeeshan was awarded the Charles Wallace Scholarship, and his works are part of esteemed collections, including the Fukouka Asian Art Museum in Japan and the Austrian Consulate in Lahore.
Currently based in Lahore, Zeeshan continues pushing boundaries of contemporary art, integrating traditional techniques with modern themes to explore complex socio-political issues.
