Rehana Mangi (b. 1986, Larkana, Pakistan) is an artist based in Lahore, renowned for her intricate, miniature-based works in various mediums, including drawing, painting, collage, needlework, and embroidery. Notably, she incorporates human hair, adding a captivating dimension to her creations. With a BFA from the National College of Arts, Lahore (2007) and an MA from Beaconhouse National University, Lahore, Rehana's art practice is a testament to her meticulous craftsmanship, featuring techniques such as cross-stitch. Hailing from the ancient Sind culture, her works delve into various facets of her heritage, exploring themes such as Black Magic and domestic violence. Her art is a playful exploration of abstraction, with a deep-rooted connection to human hair, symbolising profoundly personal memories. In 2011, Rehana Mangi received a nomination for the prestigious Jameel Art Prize. Her selected exhibitions include The Figure of Sound, a group exhibition curated by Preeti Bahadur, Shridharani Gallery (New Delhi, 2023), Nisba, Anant Art Gallery (Noida, 2023), and various art fairs. She teaches as an Assistant Professor at the National College of Arts, Lahore.
