We are pleased to present the works of Laxmipriya Panigrahi under the Bawwaba sector curated by Emiliano Valdés at Art Dubai 2024. The theme for 2024 is Sanación / Healing and looks at the ways Laxmipriya uses her practice as a place of reckoning, healing and coming together. Her landscapes, inspired by traditional miniatures and pattachitra paintings of Odisha, evoke a world untouched by human interference. Laxmipriya’s art captures her journey from rural Odisha to urban New Delhi, blending the calmness of her village with the energy of the city. Her watercolours bring to life her memories of home, reflecting a coexistence between nature and imagination.
Laxmipriya holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Painting) from Balasore Art and Crafts College, Odisha (2013), and a Master of Visual Arts (Painting) from Utkal University of Culture, Odisha (2015). Her work has been featured in notable exhibitions, including India Art Fair and Goa Affordable Art Fest. She has received numerous awards, such as the Kalanand Artist Grant and the Emerging Artist Award, recognizing her contribution to contemporary art.
