Probir Gupta’s large-scale structural installation, emblematic of his socially-engaged art practice, offers a response to contemporary realities. As a Human Rights activist, Gupta collaborates with underprivileged children, integrating their therapeutic ceramic creations into his installations. Probir Gupta (b. 1960, Kolkata) holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata (1981) and studied at École National Supérieure de Beaux-arts, Paris (1982). Based in New Delhi, Gupta has exhibited widely, including at India Art Fair, New Delhi (2019, 2020), Kochi Muziris Biennale (2018-19), and The Saatchi Gallery, London (2010).
